In this MysticMag interview, we explore the journey of Hema Vyas, a leading heart-centered mentor and psychologist, who has dedicated her life to understanding and teaching the profound impact of heart intelligence. From a childhood awakening in India to guiding individuals and organizations worldwide, Hema’s work emphasizes the power of the heart in healing and transforming lives.
Can you please introduce yourself to our readers and share a few details about your professional journey?
My journey into understanding the heart and destiny began with a childhood experience in India, which awakened me to the world’s inequalities and sparked a lifelong quest for deeper understanding. At fourteen, an out-of-body experience following a car accident solidified my belief in consciousness beyond our physical bodies. These experiences led me to realize that the heart communicates from the subconscious to the conscious self, seeking balance and harmony.
I faced an existential crisis in my young adulthood, rejecting my Hindu upbringing and questioning my faith. A transformative vision of the Hindu god Shiva inspired me to follow my inner guidance. This led me to pursue studies in psychology and esoteric subjects, culminating in my unique approach to “heart mentoring.” I learned that the heart acts as both a magnet and a mirror, reflecting and attracting qualities like love and gratitude, which are crucial for healing and personal transformation.
Over the years, I’ve built an award-winning business focused on teaching heart intelligence as a leadership tool for today’s world. As a visionary psychologist, mentor, and speaker, my mission is to empower individuals and organizations to redefine success, creating a legacy of love, purpose, and prosperity. My work integrates timeless wisdom, modern psychology, heart-centered leadership development, and Ayurvedic philosophy. I am known for addressing the silent heartache and aspirations of high achievers through programs like The Love Supreme Blueprint, Haven Leadership, and Wellness eco-luxury retreats.
I have been recognized as one of the top four innovation business mentors by a UK Government award and received EMCC Master Accreditation for my contributions to coaching and mentoring. My client base ranges from CEOs to creatives, all of whom appreciate my healing presence and incisive wisdom.
My understanding of the power of silence and meditation came through personal healing. In deep meditation, I healed much of my heartbreak and found the answers I sought. This profound inner work has become central to my teachings, helping others connect with their hearts, embrace their truths, and lead fulfilling lives. Today, I share my insights globally, guiding others in their journey towards a more connected and harmonious existence.
Can you walk me through the process of transformative healing?
Every healing journey is unique, but much of my work focuses on addressing the silent heartache often experienced by high achievers. Many people carry unresolved emotions, thoughts, and memories from past disappointments, heartaches, and heartbreaks. Often, these wounds are hidden in the “blind spots” of our consciousness—spaces in our hearts where we’ve stored these unprocessed experiences. This can happen because, in moments of trauma or shock, we’re sometimes unable to fully process what we’re experiencing. We might not even realize the lasting impact these events have had on us, often because others around us don’t recognize the depth of our hurt. As a result, we might compartmentalize these feelings, pushing them aside and creating a sort of emotional “baggage.”
This baggage takes up space within us, leading to a sense of contraction. Over time, this emotional congestion can diminish our joy in life and limit our overall well-being. It can also manifest in various areas of life, affecting the quality of our relationships, productivity, and overall sense of abundance and fulfillment. This often results in a feeling of life being more of a struggle than it should be.
The transformative healing journey aims to uncover and illuminate these hidden emotional wounds. The process involves bringing these issues into the light, acknowledging and expressing them, and reaching a deeper understanding and acceptance of them. This deeper truth isn’t just about intellectual understanding but also encompasses a spiritual realization that things happen for a reason. By making sense of these experiences and releasing them from our hearts and our electromagnetic field, we create space for new energy and information to flow.
As we release these old hurts, we experience a lightening of our being. This release opens up our hearts, allowing for better flow of energy, which positively impacts various aspects of our lives. As a result, the quality of our life improves, as does the quality of our relationships, productivity, and overall sense of joy and purpose. Ultimately, this healing process leads to a greater sense of abundance and prosperity.
And isn’t that what we all seek? A life filled with joy, abundance, and a deep sense of well-being. This transformative journey helps us move toward that ideal, helping us heal the past and open up to a brighter, more fulfilling future.
What are the differences between working with a group of people and working with a person individually?
Working with individuals and groups in the context of healing or personal development presents unique dynamics and benefits.
When working with individuals, the journey is very personal and focused. This allows for deep, direct, and specific engagement with the person’s unique issues, providing dedicated time and personalized guidance. The focus is entirely on them, making it possible to address specific concerns in a detailed and tailored manner. However, this level of intimacy can sometimes feel too raw or intense, especially when dealing with deep-seated issues. The process can bring up things that the person may not be ready to fully confront or hear, which can be both deeply transformative and challenging. One-on-one sessions allow for a thorough exploration of specific issues, providing a space for comprehensive healing and growth.
In contrast, group settings offer a different dynamic. Participants benefit from shared experiences and insights, which can be validating and reassuring as they realize they are not alone in their struggles. The shared dynamic can be empowering, fostering a sense of community. In group discussions, facilitators often speak more generally, which can allow people to process difficult topics at a comfortable distance. Even if someone isn’t ready to confront an issue directly, they can still gain valuable insights from the discussion. Groups also introduce participants to a diversity of perspectives and solutions that might not emerge in one-on-one settings. This broader range of ideas can spark new insights and provide a wider array of coping strategies. The energy and momentum in a group can be motivating, as the collective enthusiasm and shared focus help accelerate learning and healing. Additionally, group settings can expose participants to topics or perspectives they might not have considered in a one-on-one setting, leading to unexpected insights and growth.
Each format—individual or group—offers unique advantages. Individual sessions provide depth and personalized focus, while group sessions offer breadth, shared experiences, and a dynamic environment. The choice between them depends on the individual’s needs, readiness, and the specific goals of their healing or personal development journey.
What motivates you to keep doing what you’re doing?
The motivation for my work often comes from a place of recognizing the ongoing need for healing and growth in individuals and communities. It’s like being on a boat with a hole in it; no matter how much water you bail out, there’s always more coming in. There’s always a new group of people or individuals facing similar challenges, yet with unique perspectives and needs. It can sometimes feel repetitive, but then there are moments of profound impact that remind me why I continue. When someone has an epiphany, when they say, “I never thought of it that way, and now everything is different,” it’s a powerful affirmation of the work’s value. It’s a reminder that, although I’ve spoken about these concepts many times, it’s often the first time someone else has heard them, and it can change their life profoundly.
The drive to continue also comes from a broader vision of generational healing. We’re in a unique period where we’re beginning to understand and apply concepts of heart energy, heart intelligence, and heart-centered qualities in practical ways, including in leadership and daily life. This knowledge allows us to genuinely metabolize and process deep-seated issues, moving beyond superficial solutions and spiritual bypassing. The work is not just about healing individuals but also about setting the stage for healthier future generations. The ripple effect of this healing is profound, affecting not just those we directly work with but also those who come after them. This broader impact, the potential to influence and uplift future generations, is incredibly motivating. It gives a sense of purpose and meaning to the work, knowing that it’s contributing to a more compassionate and conscious world.
A big part of your work or speaking engagements, what can you tell me about that part of your work?
I never initially saw myself as a speaker, but over time, I realized the importance of sharing the true power of heart energy with others. This wasn’t about just talking; it was about educating and informing people about why understanding the depth of the heart goes beyond traditional therapy. While therapy has its place, there’s a deeper dimension that often goes unrecognized, and my speaking engagements became a platform to highlight this.
I thrive on conscious inquiry, where there’s a specific theme to explore. This approach allows me to share insights that are often what people need to hear most at that moment. It’s interesting because many people have said that what I articulate in these talks resonates deeply with them, often expressing thoughts and feelings they’ve struggled to put into words themselves. When I speak, it’s not because my words are particularly unique, but because they resonate with unspoken truths within the audience. People often feel a sense of recognition and validation, as if I’ve voiced something they’ve always felt but couldn’t articulate.
My speaking style is very intuitive and heart-centered. I don’t use a script, even for keynotes. I have a general theme or intention, but I always speak from the heart, letting the message flow naturally. This way, I connect with the audience on a deeper level, addressing their hearts and minds. It’s about delivering the most relevant and meaningful message for the moment, which can deeply impact and resonate with those who are listening.
Is there anything else you’d like to add about your work that you’d like to share that we haven’t covered?
One of the crucial points that often gets overlooked in discussions about the heart and its connection to our being is the deeper spiritual aspect. There’s a growing conversation around the heart’s relationship with the brain, especially from a neuroscience perspective, but this often misses a more profound connection to our spiritual selves. Many have been taught to separate spirituality from everyday life, especially in the scientific or therapeutic contexts. Yet, this separation limits our understanding and potential.
The heart isn’t just a metaphorical center of emotions; it’s also a gateway to deeper spiritual and intuitive intelligence. Historically, there has been a systematic downplaying of heart intelligence and spiritual awareness, which begs the question: why? If you look at stories and narratives, such as those in cinema, the protagonists who resonate most deeply with us are those who embody heart qualities like courage, compassion, and integrity. These qualities often lead them to challenge unjust systems and norms, embodying a type of heroism that resonates across cultures and histories.
The marginalization of heart intelligence in broader societal discourse might be because of its profound empowering potential. When people truly understand and harness the power of their hearts, they access a level of freedom and self-awareness that is transformative. This freedom isn’t just about physical or political liberty; it’s about the freedom to be authentic, to love fully, and to live with integrity. This type of freedom is a threat to those who benefit from a more controlled and conformist society.
In my work, I often encounter people who are seeking this type of inner freedom. They want to be free from the invisible chains of past traumas, societal expectations, and internalized fears. The journey into heart intelligence is not just a personal healing process; it’s a radical act of reclaiming one’s sovereignty. It requires courage and a willingness to dive deep into one’s inner world, addressing silent heartaches and listening to our individual and collective heart wisdom.
Ultimately, the crisis we face in humanity—a crisis of meaning, purpose, and connection—can only be resolved by turning inward and rediscovering the power of the heart. This means embracing a holistic approach to healing and living that honors both our rational minds and our spiritual essence. It’s about cultivating a deep, inner discipline that guides our actions, not because of external rules, but because of an intrinsic understanding of what’s right and just. This is the path to true freedom and collective healing.
